MSc, PhD Student, CREATIS
Thesis Topic: Development of lung applications of color K-edge perfusion imaging using Spectral Photon-Counting Computed Tomography in combination with dedicated contrast agents.
Agnieszka Gutwinska is a PhD student in the CREATIS laboratory. Originally from Poland, she moved to France after obtaining a bilingual Franco-Polish high school diploma. In 2017, she began her studies in acoustics at the University of Le Mans, where she also completed a semester of international mobility in Prague during her third year of studies.
After earning her bachelor's degree, Agnieszka continued her studies in acoustics in an International Master of Science in Acoustics at the École Centrale de Lyon. During her master's studies, she completed two research internships, one of which was at the LabTau laboratory in Lyon, focusing on the therapeutic applications of ultrasound. It was during this time that she developed a keen interest in medical research.
In May 2023, Agnieszka joined the CREATIS laboratory as a research engineer within the MYRIAD team, working on the SPCCT project. This opportunity allowed her to pursue her doctoral studies, conducting research within the framework of the ERC Kolor SPCCT Imaging project. Her thesis topic focuses on the development of color K-edge perfusion imaging in pulmonary diseases, using an innovative combination of SPCCT and dedicated contrast agents. She is supervised in her work by Dr. Salim Si-Mohamed. Agnieszka is determined to make a significant contribution to advancing knowledge in this exciting field.
In her free time, Agnieszka enjoys hiking in the mountains, rock climbing and engaging in a variety of creative activities such as painting, pottery and music.
